Heat Embossing

Good morning and welcome to a new challenge over at Back to Basic and Beyond. The new challenge is 'Heat Embossing' which is and will probably remain a much loved technique by many of us. For those who are new to heat embossing you will love it!

First stamp the image, (Magnolia by Beccy Muir) with onyx black versafine ink and the quickly covered it with black embossing powder. Tap off all the excess powder and then using an embossing tool heat it until the powder has melted. The image and background were coloured with watercolours  and then matted coloured card.

Tips, keep your tool in one area until the powder has melted (becomes shiny) the move it along.  Don't over heat, the powder will just sink into the card and become dull. If you  are just starting out, use an embossing ink as it more sticky and gives you move working time.

Just have fun and experiment.
